Shamnad Shamsudeen founded Eastern Cashew in Kureepuzha East, Kollam in the year 2000 — setting up operations in one of the most storied cashew-processing regions in the world.
His founding philosophy was a "Quality vs. Quantity" policy — that Eastern Cashew would never chase volume at the expense of kernel integrity, traceability, or the livelihoods of the workers at its core.
Over 26 years, that philosophy has built a roster of repeat buyers across 13 countries on 4 continents, and a reputation as one of Kollam's most reliable independent exporters.
In 2015, Shamnad launched Royal Nuts — a consumer-facing retail brand — beginning with Qatar's hypermarket channels, taking Eastern Cashew's factory-direct quality to the end consumer for the first time.
